The magnificent large, finely modelled vintage plaster bust of Ariadne, daughter of Pasiphae and the Cretan king Minos. In Greek mythology, she fell in love with Theseus and with a thread and weapon helped him escape the Labyrinth and defeat the Minotaur, that Minos kept in the Labyrinth. A wonderful show piece.
