PLASTER TORSO OF LAOCOON, FROM THE 1970S

A very large plaster torso of Laocoön, from the 1970s.
Laocoön, a priest in Troy, warned the Trojans not to allow the wooden horse to be brought into the city. He was punished by the gods, entwined with sea serpents, and squeezed to death.
This torso is a fabulous anatomical study, evocative, and would inject style and definitely drama into any setting. It’s taken from the original masterpiece, which resides in the Vatican Museum.

In excellent condition.

84 cm high x 68 cm wide x 33 cm depth
